Developer Techland might be hard at work on Dying Light 2 right now, but that hasn’t stopped them from continuing to support the original Dying Light, this time with a free Story Mode for the game’s Hellraid DLC.
Based on a cancelled Techland game known as Hellraid, Dying Light’s Hellraid DLC originally launched back in August 2020. Now, a free update has added a new story mode, known as The Prisoner, as well as new areas, new weapons, and some technical enhancements for the dungeon slasher.
Story Mode sees players venture deep into the demon-infested bowels of Ba’al’s Temple, in order to rescue the mysterious and powerful mage, Lucius. With three new quests, all of which can be played in co-op, as well as new locations and enemies, players will have to switch up their offensive strategy. Luckily, players will be equipped with all new weapons, including a bow (Hellraid’s first ranged weapon) and a two-handed hammer.
